Alexis Herman was born in Red Bank and grew up in Colts Neck, NJ. She received a B.F.A. from the Rochester Institute of Technology and worked as a designer in New York City. After earning an M.B.A. from New York University, Alexis entered the corporate world and traveled around the globe. After shifting values, Alexis left her corporate life and reconnected with her creative roots. Her work reflects a love of water and nature. The artist states, “At the heart of being a painter is the act of creating. The desire to create starts with an overwhelming gratitude of God’s original creation.” Alexis now lives, paints, and surfs at the Jersey Shore.
