Don Bernhardt is a native of Highlands, NJ and has always lived, worked, and played at the Jersey Shore. He began painting at the age of eleven, with a few lessons from area artist Travis Neidlinger. As a teenager, Don won many awards and ribbons in local shows. He prefers painting with watercolors, oils, and acrylics, and his artwork is a reflection of the things he loves most. Don has incorporated many reminders of his childhood days spent on the Navesink River into some of his paintings. He and his wife, Donna, live in Brielle, NJ.
